Mugs | Blasting ceramic
The master craftsman Maricela and her family, from Sto. Domingo Tonaltepec, create these wonderful and unique pieces in the traditional "blasted clay" technique. To create the unique patterns on each piece, pine oak resin is poured when they are almost red hot. The result is the fabulous dark markings that make each piece unique.

Take this into account: The ceramics fired with the ancestral techniques of this community are fired in wood-burning ovens, which can give dark tones to some parts of the cup, as well as generate small cracks that do not affect the functionality of the object. These elements are part of the characteristics of this type of craftsmanship, as well as part of its history and charm.
